Navy continues to be busy giving assistance at the beaches
La Semar sigue muy activaVer masFull article at this link
During the Easter Holidays, the Navy has been maintaining surveillance on the beaches, which continues during these last days of the vacation period. They rescued on person and gave medical assistance to another, as part of Operation Salvavidas during Easter Holidays 2018.
A rescue operation was carried out when a person enjoying recreational water activities at North Beach was dragged by strong waves which took her away from the shore by the beach, so the Naval lifeguards immediately went to help her, and when she was safe they gave her medical attention, and afterward she left by her own means.
In the other case, the Naval health personnel gave medical attention to a woman on North Beach who complained of dizziness. They took her blood pressure and gave her oral hydration with electrolytes.
On the beaches in the area of Cancun and Isla Mujeres, there have been more than 40 people given medical attention or rescued by the Navy during this holiday season, therefore this number is expected to reach 50 people.

On Saturday, the 28th, their relatives and friends will begin arriving on the island, and the boats are expected to begin arriving on Sunday afternoon, depending on the weather.

The port was open for general navigation on Thursday, and good weather is expected for the weekend, with moderate winds from the northeast and southeast on Saturday and Sunday. The ban on grouper has recently ended and this is an incentive for the fishermen to replenish their stocks for the gastronomic sector in the last days of the Easter holidays.

Insufficient space for the fair
Insuficiente espacio para la feria+] Ver masFull article at this link
A fair was installed at part of the Paseo de los Peces on the edge of the Mundaca Hacienda, but it is causing inconvenience for tourists who are sightseeing around the island. Authorization was given to install the mechanical equipment in  the midst of the Easter Holiday season, along a busy access road for the Caribbean Coastal road, or for tourists going to Mundaca, Garrafon or Sac Bajo. However, it is said that there is a lack of public space for these annual fairs,
Also, the government authorizes use of the streets at time to celebrate birthdays, memorialize deaths, or other events, and the detours cause complications in traffic that is already saturated with the presence of more than 1200 golf carts.
The fair features mechanical games and rides for children and adults, sales of food and snacks, and target shooting. The families visit after 8pm, until midnight. The participants in the fair came from Merida, Yucatan, and from here they will go to Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. This fair usually visits cities and small towns in the states of the Yucatan Peninsula, with some regularity.

Another allegation of negligence at the Community Hospital
Otra negligencia en el Hospital Comunitario [+] Ver masFull article at this link
April 4  According to collected informatin, in the early hours of the morning, Carlos Ávalos Galué, went to the Community Hospital via motorcycle. He felt badly and waited for some time for the front door to be opened. There was no rapid response and a security guard told him the entrance is through the parking lot.
With the help of the security guard, he entered the office of Dr. Abraham Rojas, who was dismayed to tell the patient, whom he knows, that there were no cardiac medications and the cardiac monitor wasn't working. As the minutes passed, the situation worsened. The concerned doctor contacted the Director of the Navy Hospital, and was informed that they did have the medications there. However, the search came too late, and the patient passed away.
He died of a sudden heart attack, at about 3am, an hour after his arrival at the hospital. It has been nicknamed the "hospital of death" due to the lack of timely attention, and the lack of basic medication, by relatives who have been affected by this situation.
In general, blame is placed on the State Health Department for its lack of attention to the Community Hospital, and for the lack of medication. Friends and family of Mr. Avalos were told that the hospital did not have basic medications to treat chest pains and anxiety, like Nitroglycerin patches or Diazepam, that the cardiac monitor didn't work, and there there were no Venosets (intravenous lines). Relatives tried to find these medications in the local pharmacies, but they didn't have them.
Dr. Rojas and his team worked in vain to try to stabilize the patient until he died at 3am, an hour after his arrival. The Navy offered to assist in the cause with its medications, but it was too late.
"We have announced here (in Por Esto) that during the current period of state government, several people have died, including a baby a few months ago. Many times there is not enough time to transport them to Cancun to receive specialized attention, despite having now had a maritime ambulance in Isla Mujeres for two years, which is operated by the Port Authority of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo)."

Fence falling down that is located by a sports dome
Cae cercado de domo deportivo. [+] Ver masFull article at this link
Due to a lack of maintenance the fences near the Mundaca dome are falling into disrepair, which are located at escribano and Huachinanco streets, ajoining with Macabí and a private prooperty, while to the southeast is the Aguakan wastewater plant, and a module for the State Institute for Adult Education (IEEA). The steel mesh fence has fulfilled its useful life and suffers from rust, since there is a high level of salinity in this area.
