The meeting was rescheduled for Tuesday between officials with CONANP  (National Commission of Protected Natural Areas) and the whale shark permit licensees who are concerned about the permits that have not yet been renewed. The permit holders say more than half of the permits haven't been received.
One of the permit holders said,  "I have three boats, and I've spent six years dedicating myself to this, yet now they tell me that because of a monopoly, they are only going to give me one, which seems ridiculous to me when there are other people who have more than 10 authorized permits, so I don't know what monopoly they are talking about. "

Señora Elsa M. Cauich Huchim has filed a legal complaint following the fire that occurred at a property which is involved in a legal dispute over invasion of public space, and other issues, including ownership. The business was closed by municipal order five years ago, as a result of the ongoing legal issues.
She said the City has intentions to take possession of the property, and says remnants of clothes and gasoline were found in the property following the fire in the predawn hours of June 4th. She is making accusations that the fire was provoked by municipal staff. Her complaint names an official with the Firefighters department, alleging that she is not neutral on this issue.
