This update says the specialists are continuing to try and save the young male dolphin and to diagnose his infection. They gave him an ultrasound. They were concerned about ulcers, that was negative & about gastroenteritis, and kidney stones, which are common with these animals. Since he wouldn't eat for the past two days they've fed him medically. He's improved slightly...but continued to lose weight "which can be fatal" He was extremely dehydrated, they continue to do studies and to treat him, the prognosis is guarded. Care is complicated because there is no clinical history for the animal.

Motorcycle vs taxi: Two injured
Moto contra taxi; dos lesionadas[+] Ver masFull article at this link
An accident occurred in colonia La Gloria at 3:45pm between a taxi and a motorcycle which  caused injuries to two people and damaged both vehicles. Taxi driver Arturo Bracamonte (son of  “Cocholón”), was driving taxi #75 from south to north on Paseo de las Aves, when a large black Yamaha motorcycle appeared in front of him, at the intersection with Liseta Street. He said he was going 40 kph and used his brakes, but the motorcycle did not respect his right of way and he was unable to avoid the collision.
The motorcycle was driven by Ms Yessica Zuniga Torres, 26, who said the taxi driver was speeding. Her child who was a passenger apparently hit the pavement and may have suffered a fracture of her right hand. The young woman was upset and concerned, and she and the child were assisted by residents who moved them from the pavement to rest against the wall of a nearby business. Moments later the girl was taken in the Red Cross ambulance with her mother to evaluate the obvious injuries to her left arm and left leg.
This is not the first time there has been an accident at this location, without major consequences, involving well known politicians, such as  Ariel Magana Carrillo (RIP), and his colleague Hugo Sanchez Montalvo (The former was isla's first mayor and the later was mayor 2011-2013). It has been requested that traffic signals (señales) be installed at this spot, and that visual obstacles be eliminated, independent of the speed of the drivers.

Two days with electricity suspensions
Dos días sin energía eléctrica. [+] Ver masFull article at this link
Some residents are complaining that the electrical suspensions began at an early hour and the power did not return until dusk, which caused their food to spoil. For two days, CFE was doing work that affected residents on south Juarez avenue and Allende street, downtown.
Brigades of CFE workers are replacing poles, and other  electrical parts, before the hurricane season in September-October, since many poles are deteriorating since they were installed after the passage of Hurricane Wilma in 2005.

Analizan viabilidad de traer futbol profesional [+] Ver masFull article at this link

Recently, a group of business owners and coaches, who love soccer, held a meeting with the Mayor, Juan Carrillo Soberanis, to discuss the possibility of bringing a franchise of the Third professional division of the professional Mexican soccer circuit. Feasibility could be determined by June, and if it is favorable, the field in colonia Salinas could be adapted by expanding the stands, bathrooms, and players area to meet the regulations.

The Eta Aquarid meteor shower, which is caused by debris from Halley's Comet, is peaking this week during the predawn hours of Friday & Saturday. The most meteors can be seen during the hours before 5a, when dawn starts (after moonset at 3:00a on Fri and 3:49 on Sat).
Experts say: Give yourself at least an hour of viewing time for watching any meteor shower. Meteors tend to come in spurts that are interspersed by lulls, and it can take as long as 20 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark. You don’t need to know where they are to watch a meteor shower, because the meteors fly every which way across the sky, in front of numerous constellations.
However, the higher a shower’s radiant appears in your sky, the more meteors you’re likely to see. For the Eta Aquarids, the radiant soars highest in the nighttime sky just before dawn. That’s why you can expect to see the most meteors in the wee morning hours.
You can see some Eta Aquarid meteors in late evening, before the radiant rises into your sky. In fact, late evening is the best time to see earthgrazers, meteors that make exceptionally long streaks across your sky. As the radiant rises higher – that is as the hours of the night tick away to dawn – you’ll see shorter meteors, but more meteors.
In a dark sky, especially at more southerly latitudes, the Eta Aquarids can produce up to 20 to 40 meteors per hour.
The comet dust smashes into Earth’s upper atmosphere at nearly 150,000 mph. Roughly half of these swift-moving meteors leave persistent trains – ionized gas trails that glow for a few seconds after the meteor has passed.
The paths of the Eta Aquarid meteors appear to radiate from a certain point in front of the constellation "Aquarius the Water Bearer". This point is called the 'radiant' of the meteor shower, and since it nearly aligns with the star "Eta Aquarii", it's named for that star.
The alignment of the radiant and the star is of course coincidental. Eta Aquarii is some 170 light-years away – trillons upon trillions of miles away – while the Eta Aquarid meteors burn up about 60 miles (100 km) above Earth’s surface.
